Somewhere in Scotland, somebody is making elaborate book sculptures and leaving them in libraries as gifts of appreciation and "in support of libraries, books, words, ideas." So far, they've appeared at seven different venues around Edinburgh, UNESCO's City of Literature, in tribute to its bookishness. They're intricate and clever, and much as I hate to see books carved up, even for art, I can't help but admire these. Here's the first one, that people are calling the Poetree. You can read about and see the rest of them here.
