Haven't posted here in a while because I've been busy writing and teaching, but I'd like to get back to posting on a semi-regular basis, even if it's only little stuff. I've been hanging out on Facebook a lot too (way too much, truthfully; even my cat feels neglected). But now that a new semester has started, I thought I'd turn over a new leaf and get back to doing some creative things too, including blogging more.
But one thing Facebook is really good for is bringing my disparate worlds together. I have people on my list there who are fine and book artists, activists, writers, poets, skeptics, scientists and old friends from high school and college (who, of course, also do stuff too), and this is why I waste so much time over there. Only it's not really wasted, because I keep coming across stuff like this:
This comes courtesy of my friend Erica, ex-librarian and now manga publishing mogul, who was just in Japan. I can't think of a better use for a phone book. But there's plenty more over at the site to look at, from crushed cans made of paper netting to an amazing anime blimp. Go take a look. And go do some art.
