Ladies & Germs, Friends and Clients, I'm temporarily reduced to WIFI internet access after a major snafu on my faithful VAIO desktop (strictly a software problem). Until I can get the Geek Squad out here to fix it (and put in some more RAM while they're at it), I'll be working from my satellite office in Starbucks for limited hours. If you need to contact me, please give me a call on my cell. If you need my cell, drop me a note at the email-me link at the right and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Or call my landline, which is still working, and is listed in the book.
UPDATE: Well, the current ETA is (AARGH!) February 2nd! Never fear, posts will keep coming though. I'm almost a month ahead, thank goodness. I knew there was some reason I did that.
On the up side, maybe without the Internet, I'll actually get some book making and writing done. Keep you posted.
UPDATE: Got the laptop hooked up to the intertubes, which is not an ideal situation, but certainly better than no intertubes at all. Now it's February 6th before the technician can come out. Grrrrr! But at least I'm online again.
UPDATE: The good news is that I managed to fix my drivers. The bad news is that I had to do a system restore to do it, and now I have to reload everything and reset all my preferences. Yes, I did to a backup and didn't lose anything but some of my fun little sounds and icons and cursors. Annoying, but not a tragedy, by any means. And that external harddrive I bought? That sucker was the best investment I've ever made. Get yerself one now, and back up everything you own every night.
