Laura Davidson Books

ArtsyfartsymoiAnother treasure turned up on my Google alerts for "unique books": Laura Davidson's clever constructions of miniature books, tunnel books, pop-ups, accordion books, and other constructions.  She's also a fine artist, like so many book artists (and unlike me) and incorporates many of her drawings and paintings into her work. Here's her Gertrude Stein tribute. Take a look at the rest of her work. It's really striking and original. I want one of each.

  • Poets House: A Place for Poetry
    Newly renovated and fantastically beautiful: a vast library of poetry books; literary center for readings and performances.
  • St. Mark's Poetry Project
    Started in 1966, the Poetry Project was one of the inspirations for the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. In addition to weekly readings and workshops, they hold a 24-hour poetry reading on New Year’s Day each year.
