It's Only a Paper Moon . . .

Moonlitdoll Papermoon_2 But what a gorgeous paper moon! I'm a sucker for mooney things anyway and this is making me covetous. Little Robot, over at Paper, Pictures, Automata & Other Fanciful Things has made a lovely commission piece based on a photo of someone's grandmother sitting on a paper moon. It's one of those "Darn, I wish I'd made that!" pieces that makes you wish not so much that you'd thought of it, but that you'd done it and it was now yours. The design and execution are strangely inevitable, which is not to say there's anything ordinary or cliched about it. It's taken all the elements you'd expect and done something really wonderful with them.  Have a look (more pics at the site):
