I finally went to bed around 1:30 AM and this arrived overnight in my e-mail, from Alice's mom:
We have learned she is among the last people being held, they say because her fingerprints cannot be matched with any criminals in the system and therefore they must keep searching. We have learned the cell she is being held in is part of an old bus shop/barn and the floors are soaked with oil and chemicals, the fumes are nauseating. The booking office unplugged their phone. We don't know if she'll be released tonight. i don't want to wake you by calling since it is so late your time. we are going to stay up another hour or 2. Hoping she will be released by morning some time, but we still realize a chance she will be kicked out at 3 AM.
Since I still haven't heard anything, I assume the cops are still trying to find the criminal record of this 17 year old girl. And if that isn't the biggest load of crap I've ever heard, I don't know what is. It's enough to make me want to march down there with my own sign, as the experience apparently did some bystanders (mirror) caught in the sweep, including some guy who just walked out of his apartment building in the vicinity of a march.
So as of 8:32 AM, Alice is still being held, as far as I know. Totally ridiculous, and still in contempt of court.
