The first time I set up my website from scratch, I was learning HTML as I went along, so it's not surprising that it took me ten 18-hour days to do it. This time around, the complete redesign of two blogs and the website has only taken me about 24 hours. You'll notice new links in the sidebar. The Home button will take you to the new site, which is about 30% smaller than it was because I've moved the 9/ll Journals to Typepad, since I have unlimited space. Bloggorhea Sr. is just going to stay where it is, since I'm not using the web space on that mailbox for anything anyway, and I don't feel like recreating or trying to import it. So all those zillions of pages in the old website have been reduced by about half and crammed into a six-button top menu with little teeny submenus. The whole splash page looks a lot cleaner, I must say. And it's nice to know enough Photoshop now to not take hours doing the art and also get a pretty nice product. Nothing real fancy, but a vast improvement over what it was.
I did the usual geek thing yesterday and didn't really eat and stayed up half the night. Then I didn't sleep until 5, got up and ten and just finished now. Needless to say, I'm pooped, but feeling righteously accomplished. We'll see if any of this entry makes sense tomorrow or not.
