U.S. legaly killed an American citizen

This weekend I read an article titled, Secret U.S. Memo Made Legal Case to Kill a Citizen, in which they spoke of how president Obama's administration found a 50 page secret memo that seems to justify the murder of Anwar al-Awlaki. Awlaki was for terrorism and spoke of committing terrorist acts against the U.S.. What the Obama administration was able to come up with was, that "Alwaki could be legally killed if it was not feasible to capture him, because intelligence agencies said he was taking part in the war between the United States and Al Qaeda and posed a significant threat to Americans, as well as because Yemeni Authorities were unable or unwilling to stop him". I just thought this was an interesting piece of news for everyone.

This kinda freaked me out. I'm not sure I think it's a good idea to put American citizens on a secret assination list.

Well, he was taking part in terrorist acts against the U.S., so its kind of an iffy subject.

But this is an American citizen who plotted to kill Americans. I mean if US send in troops to capture him chances are more Americans would be killed. Take it from someone who has a loved who is currently deployed I would much prefer to do things this way than putting his life and countless others at risk.
