I've been thinking about getting a small tabletop press for a while, just to experiment with but most of them print such a small area that you can only do 5x7 cards at most, and they take up a lot of room on the tabletop. This little doodad seems to solve at least one of those problems:
It's from Lifestyle Crafts and is called the L Letterpress. It's not yet available, but the price is a pretty reasonable $149. The only drawback I can see is that you must use plates. I wonder who sturdy it is at that price? That's one of the things I love about the old iron presses: their toughness. Plastic doesn't fare well with me because I'm a bit of a bruiser when it comes to making things work. It'll be interesting to see the reviews when they come in. If anyone buys one of these, please let me know!
